The Information Literate School Community

What is an information literate school community? How do you know when your teachers, your students and your school have arrived?

The Laptop Fallacy

"If only every student had their own computer . . ."

Some folks have exaggerated the benefits of equipping students with laptops without paying due attention to strategic teaching and professional development.

Strategic teaching and clear educational purpose must precede and accompany the purchase of equipment if we hope to see a return on investment.
Grossly under-valued (and under-funded) by many technology zealots, it is strategic teaching which accounts for the greatest growth in student performance. Networks and computers are no more than useful tools.
