A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words - Part Two

Your team will visit a collection of photographs at the Library of Congress to search for images of life in tenements at the turn of the 19th century.

1) Your team will select 5 photographs that do a good job of showing life at that time.

2) Copy and paste these 5 photographs into a word processing file.

3) Insert a text box next to each photograph to include its identifying information and a reason for including it.

4) Agree upon a poetic or intriguing title for your small collection and place the title on the top of your page.

Click here to conduct the search. Type the word "tenement" into the search box.

Do not move forward to the next activity until this activity has been completed and debriefed by the full group.
