Foul Water

Level A Research Module

Acid rain can do great damage. What is the worst kind of damage?

You and your partner will visit the Web site of the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) to compare and contrast six kinds of impacts. You will spend 20 minutes looking at these impacts, trying to determine which is the most serious.

You will then use a word processing program to make a choice and provide evidence to support your decision.

What are the Effects of Acid Rain on each of the following?

  • Surface waters (e.g., lakes and streams)
  • Forests
  • Automotive Coatings (e.g., car paint)
  • Materials
  • Visibility
  • Human Health

Go to the EPA Web site.
